Hibernation worries

Hi, I have just this week bought a 2 year olds Heramnn. My only concern so far is when to hibernate him and long for?

Hi Antz if you are new to keeping tortoises it's probably safer to keep him awake this year.

I agree with Jonathan, you need to get to know your tortoise and habits etc, before tackling hibernation:0)
Some one will always be here to help next year, and this gives you more time to research hibernation, and ask questions:0)
