Darren,
Thanks for sorting the activation out. We got out torts from a local farm shop which was converted a while ago into an aquarium shop but recently started selling torts aswell. The shop is immaculate and the animals are all in very good condition but unfortunately like other pet shops advised us to buy a vivarium. They did advise us with the food to feed - the crispy mixed lettuce and cucumber so it wasn't the worst advise I've heard from other posts but still wasn't correct. They gave us the nutrobal and basking and uv lamps. The torts are imported from Slovenia though. Judith

Thanks Dan for answering my question.
Darren thats great to know that I was right saying THB because the sub-sub species are not recognised in the UK. But for breeding purposes would it be advisable that similar coloured animals be bred just in case in the future these sub-sub species become recognised, for future pure breeds surely this is very important. Ade in general
Yes breed type to type but color variation is graet in THB mainly locality diffrerences but this isn't always the case Darren

Over time I have notice Shellie has started digging down more and more and deeper late afternoon/evening. I thought it had been mentioned in a thread I'd done quite a while ago when id'd my torts both THB - Dan & Darren. Its since we've been putting them outside for a little while that its got to the stage today where when Shellie has come back into the house in their tort table she has gone into her hideaway and dug right down that she is now completely covered! Mavis never digs down. Does the fresh air knock them out if they're not used to it? Judith
