Wendy I will sort some tonight for you.
Vee yes tiny little miniture adults , they usually weigh about 15-17 g at birth and grow fast gaining about 10-15g a day. Sandy never had twins and never heard of twins, if twins where born I doubt two would survive Terry they are Tolypeutes matacus there are two sub speices Tolyputes tricinctus being the other which are considerably rare and I have never heard of any in captivity and not even seen a photo of one. Babybee They are weaned at about 3 months old but stay with mum till about 4 months old . Helen1 very interactive on there terms tehy are wild animals through and through Geordie Mark they are in the order called xenarthans this order includes all dillos anteaters and sloths. dilos are in the family of dasypodidae Thanks everyone D |

Amazing that is now 11 babies. Well done Darren.
We are lucky in that we have one of Darrens 1st male dillo's called Arnie. As in nature the male is far brighter than the female and very clever . We have lots of interaction with the little guy and play fight, tickle his belly etc. You have to be careful when doing this as if he spooks and rolls in a ball your fingers are going to be sore to say the least. They are amazing animals to keep and it is amazing what Darren has done with this little know critter. Keep up the amazing work buddy. M |

Thanks Mike
I'm glad Arnie gives you so much pleasure as his parents do for me. Lets hope he can breed at some point and lend his genes to the pool D |
