Family petting Zoo, Amazed to find this..

Hi all,
Ive recently visited a local petting zoo close to me in South West Wales, they have torts which all seem to be in ok living conditions. Apart from obious contradictory advice they give about 'weeds are the best thing torts can eat' then they are seen feeding carrots etc.
Im writing a letter in to them to politely ask about possible changes, and also remaing responsible to people to show correct husbandry.
The last pic horriffied me, as i feel its a pottential death trap. The tort is housed with what i believe is an Iguana, obvious risk of infection here, also id think possible aggression by the iguana at certain times of the year ??
I realy need your guys help here with any other points i need to point out to the management as im not up to speed on iguana or other reptile keeping.
By the way the torts were behind glass fronted rooms, with access to outside gardens.

could be worth forwarding your pictures and report of the conditions to Andy Highfield he could then also write to them and try and get conditions improved !!

Are the tortoises in the same in enclosure as each other as they are different sub species of Tg possibly a TGG and a TGI can't tell 100% as pictures are hazy
I have seen the damage green iguanas can do to tortoises when mixed its never really worth the chance even though its often common practise to mix these .
Dietary wise they are almost identical needing both leafy greens and a good source of calcium d3 supplement
With correct lighting in the forum of a good spot or basking area preferably with good UVB outlet

Yep, the subs are seperated, they seem to be good with that, also their lighting conditions are also bang on. I was snooping around looking through feeding stores and saw a load of new powersun uvb+heat combined.

i think that's a collared lizard. im not too sure though.

Its not ideal to have them together-but i must say they keep theirs a hell of a lot better and with better information than most others i've seen!
If you do write to them please also praise them for their research before hand?Its nice to recognise when people have tried to be caring xx
