Default Cool Chicken

For once it's been fairly dry in Wales OH in process of putting up new tort greenhouse to replace the one that got trashed Spent my morning in the OH's "plant greenhouse" clearing up and sowing some seeds. All 5 chickens came in, as they do, every time there were few spots of rain. Then it hailed Rosie, one of my ex bats obviously hasn't seen hail before, she shot out the door to pick up the "cold white grain" on the floor outside which someone was obviously throwing for her to eat

They're such characters aren't they! Mine absolutely hate the wind.

Lynne you paint such a lovely picture with your words, of your chooks. I wish I had space for some chooks, I would really love some.

She's gave it a good try, had several bits before she got fed up of it bouncing off her back and ran back in to the greenhouse clucking

I'm on my first flock too Lynne. They make lovely pets with the perk of gorgeous fresh eggs.
I'll definitely keep having hens.

There's nothing better than fresh free range eggs
My uncle had chickens and geese for years, we had lots of eggs off him as he had about 20 chooks

I had my first goose egg last year and loved it! I'm a fan of duck eggs too but I don't have room for ducks and I'm not sure the neighbours would appreciate the loud quacking!

If I had more land I'd most definitely have more chickens and ducks. Not sure about geese though...I'm a bit scared of them!
