They are seriously stunning tortoises!
I noticed a pink tinge on the plastron in that last pic, just though I would mention it.

Thank you.

That's simply from growing, as Bev noticed, some of the adults are young and still growing.

Thanks for the response. Are any of those that reproduced the ones you got a couple of years ago?

Ed, the smallest boettgeri I had produce was exactly 6" on the dot. I am sure people have recorded smaller than that. As for hermanni hermanni, the smallest producers I have are either just at or just shy of 4".

I haven't sold any Thh babies in a while because I am holding this year's and last year's back. Last time I sold them they were $350 to $400 each.

A lot of those were passed on but yes some did produce. These are ones with exact localities that I've had for a long time now, some going on ten years. I ended up with so many at one point that I only kept ones that I knew the localities of.

Smart move. How did you know the localities of the ones you kept?

I learned from who originally collected certain ones and others based on paperwork.

Great news Chris - and fab photos.

So encouraging to hear of your breeding sucess.

Hopefully in a few years you can give me some tips!

Keep up the good work.
