Anyone closer to London to rescue these little ones before they get given to anyone, his advert doesn't install confidence that proper information and advice will be given. |

Could be someone who has been taken ill, or the tortoises cannot have papers because the parents are not registered.

I know we dont know the sellers situation but even if something happened in my life I would make sure my pets were cared for or at least make sure they went to good homes if I couldnt care for them!
It seems this person is just willing to give them to anyone. I would take them just to prevent them from being given to anyone and then try and find them all homes, but if they need paperwork that he doesnt have then that wouldnt be possible

if you are having to give torts away either because of lack of papers or other reasons them you will always been flooded with people and probably half of those are wanting to make a quick buck, buts its important for the giver and anyone wanting one to realise that if they don't have papers they can't sell or breed from them. Even on the forums you only ever know what people want you to know/hear so unless you personally know someone as a freind you could be giving a tort to anyone. Twice I have met members (years ago) and both times they weren't what they appeared to be and both shouldn't have been keeping the torts concerned, one left me so concerned I nearly called the RSPCA but did inform the giver of the torts who sadly couldn't get them back and had beleived what they had said about themselves. Its one reason why I always liked to meet my buyers when I sold the hatchlings I know you can't see the house but you do at least meet face to face and have a better idea who they are and can have a good talk and they can see what the set up should look like.

I have just texted to try and find out what breed they are and if necessary I will go get them and take them down to the reptile rescue at Brighton, will let you know what happens.

I just called the mobile number and left a message, I did get a call back almost immediately from a man who asked what is a tortoise! and then asked me if I believed in God! he then gave me a lecture on how God brought me into this world ect ect....I apologised as I thought I might have dialed incorrectly he said I hadn't and wanted me to describe a tortoise which I did. And finally he told me he was going to have to hang up as I didn't believe !!!
In all honesty i'm not sure how i feel other then confused...... |
