Plastron worries!!
Hello,
My 18 month old Dwarf Hermann tortoise has pitted abdominal plates on her plastron. The plates then protrude at the line that runs down the center of her plastron. I'm getting really worried that its caused by an underlying health problem. She eats a healthy diet of weeds and is bathed daily. Her substrate is 50/50 soil and play sand... Any advice or suggestions regarding what it might be or is caused by are welcome. Thankyou in advance xx |

I think it might help if you posted a photograph of the plastron. |

I think people will determine (subject to pics), that it's normal growth.
I recall raising a similar issue for both of my 2 last year and was told it was normal - indeed as they're getting older they are flattening out. Post up the pics and lets see
