Default Help solos nail has just fell of and shes bleeding

Hi everyone,

I have just been to bath solo and noticed her nail was falling of but not just the nail part of the bit that joins it with the foot. my mom and i were looking at it and she pulled her leg in which pulled it on as she caught it it started to really bleed so we have put some plain flour onto it to help stop it. Not sure if this was right but it was all i could think of doing. So please can someone help ?

I'm just uploading a picture

Thanks
Kirsty

Heres a picture.

We have put her back into her enclosure now so she doesn't get anything of the floor into it.

I think a visit to the vets is in order here, Kirsty, to be on the safe side

Well thats good. I was a bit freaked out, I've only ever seen tortoise claws attached to a tortoise before

Sure someone will be able to advise you on any aftercare required.

We have phoned the vets not long ago as someone suggested to me via pm and they called us back and have said that the specialist isn't in until Monday at 4:30 so thats the soonest they could get her in. We had the same problem when we lost wiggle through septicemia he wasn't in for a few days and they wouldn't call him in.

You can use Betadine on it once Kirsty to clean up the area. Than keep it clean and dry until you can see the vet. A picture of the leg might help us figure out if it just got caught or something else is going on.

Thanks danny i will go up and get a picture of her leg now.

Where would i be able to get betadine from?
Also i was thinking to keep it clean should i make something like a sock or something to put over it as shes kept on soil so it will all be going in?
