Thought of the day, the Pre alpin guy's or women harvest a field of various grass species and sown in weed plant's, is it by hand it is havested or a mechanical like a combine harvester. If machanical bet there's some added protein in there a minute shape of bunny and mouse ear.

I would think they would do the content analysis at packaging and that would be factored in... you left out the insects.

It could be equally as 'risky' to try to replicate the wild as it is to not replicate the wild I reckon. The only way to keep them as they would be in the wild is to buy a large area of land in the med region or any other part of the world where torts roam free.

Failing that then everyone has to keep their torts as captive animals because that is what they are at the end of the day. Lots of people will try to stick to nature as much as possible but when it comes down to it they are having to us UV bulbs, tables, artificial heating, Nutrobal, limestone flour, incubators, baytril, panacur, fridges...

Ed,

See when you say that if you are feeding formulated diet, ANY greens will do on the other days, does that include salad greens? Romaine, escarole, raaddichio etc?

That's the beauty of it. You are not concerned of the nutritional value of the greens. You do have to be aware of plant high in oxalic acid an other harmful plants.

Some salad foods can give runny faeces, can they not, due to the water content? What would you recommend there?

This is why I suggest Dark leafy greens. Those are usually high fiber low moisture.
