I thought he was a gonna tbh. The sudden onset of swollen eyes took me by surprise, but am convinced they were infected after I found him in the shallow water dish upside down.
He has put on over 10 grammes in a few weeks, which is good but is RNS so I keep a moonlight on him constant with UVA/B during day. he was 39, went to 57 grammes, down to 40 and now 64 grammes. Strangely and perhaps some one can tell me this , if I go anywhere near him he just closes his eyes. Place food in front of him and his eyes close and he won't open then until minutes later. He doesn't stick his head in he just closes his eyes. I have had to keep him in the kitchen so I am close by all the time (yes chained to the kitchen sink I am but still can't cook). this is him yesterday.....woofing it down. He sleeps loads and I just let him do what he wants. He sleeps in his daily bath too.

It's great he's gaining weight, CB.
What a gorgeous little chap he is. I can't think of an explanation regarding his eyes closing when you approach other than perhaps him making a connection between his sore eyes, eye drops and yourself. Now his eyes have improved I'm sure he'll forget. He's certainly happy to open them and get munching so he must be feeling lots better. Letting him do what he wants sounds the best thing to do and he's a fortunate little one to be so well monitored and cared for.

thought I would up date on the little fellow in sick bay. He has had a couple of days outside but mostly stays still or sleeps despite making sure he feels safe outside.
He is eating well and is 73 grammes up from the significant drop. He takes himself off to bed in a cardboard box and gets up early. He sleeps 95% of the day under his lamp and I will have to wake him up to eat, usually after a bath (hipp baby organic carrot and reptoboost) at exactly 37 degrees, and then he sleeps. His swollen eyes have gone right down. (opticom). Clearly as I' am tied to the kitchen sink most days, he is still in a grow bag tort table in the kitchen, so I can keep a close watch on him. His shell rot has cleared up and he isn't so bubbly nose (warmth and rest). I don't hand feed him as he closes his eyes if I go near him still, but he woofs down his food. And looks up for more. Handsome devil he is and I call him Woodward. I think he is waving at us.
