No, there shouldn't be any lights on in the night, I don't think they'll rest properly x

I give him a bath yesterday and to my very great surprice he did a poo. I have wormed him. I have bought a CHE and holder off e-bay, should come this week. I was using a red 40 watt basking bulb for him but today I bought a white 40 watt basking bulb from Pets at home. I saw at pets at home a night time red 40 watt bulb. Could I keep at on all night? |

Oh my goodness what an awful time you have had, so sorry. Glad to hear Horace has eaten something, this seems to have happened since he did a poo in his bath, just wondering if he could be constipated, has he not been pooing? Cos if he is constipated he won't want to eat, are the pellets well soaked and Horace well hydrated. May be only give the pellets twice a week, how much are you giving him in one sitting, it should be 2% of his body weight,
Other things you could try are florette crispy lettuce, rocket, occasional kale and water cress. Obviously weeds are best, when their about, Keep up the warm baths.

Hi Horace, so sorry to hear of your losses - difficult time Just to let you know that a red basking bulb is of no use to tort really and does not need to be on at night. If the eating slows up, could you increase the wattage of your basking bulb from 40 watt? That might help

Hi again! Meant to say, recommended amount of pellets is 2%-4% of bodyweight per day, just for info Where abouts in Wales are you - there are a few of us now
