Hearing ....
I've always wondered, and have only just remembered to ask you guys !
Are torts sensitive to hearing ? I'm always cautious when playing music at a volume around my torts table ... Any help appreciated !

They do. Mine know when you are talking as they come over to see whats going on. They also seem to respond to the radio which I have on in the background when I am cleaning the shed.

They do not hear as we do, but are sensitive to vibrations when we walk and different pitches. I have a blind tort and if I shout her in a silly high pitched voice she picks her head up and almost runs towards me. If I talk in lower tones it takes longer for her to pick up that I am there. It is said that outside they respond to the vibrations in the ground as we walk and by sight rather than sound. Mine seem unaffected by loud music unless there is a strong base
