Go away Carol
Carol Kirkwood is on the telly saying how hot it's to be today - "Gin clear skies" she says. No need to rub it in Carol, we are having torrential rain AGAIN and it's been that way all night and to stay that way all day

you had two weeks of sunshine at the end of may when my son and his wife came there for a holiday, it was absolutely miserable down here then and has been for weeks. This is the first prolonged nice spell for a long time here in the midlands so I think we deserve it.

We didn't get the 2 good weeks here where I live as far as I remember, I think it was actually 3 sunny days we had at the end of May when I got the torts out and never had one since. Even then it was still only broken cloud. Not one single day since March where there has been a clear blue sky all day I don't think. Tomorrow we've to get a sunny interval then back to rain and sunny intervals for the next 7 days at least

Did you get 2 good weeks in Edinburgh in May? 3 days is what I remember but I know that 15 miles away they were getting better weather than us. I was at one evening meeting at Musselburgh where it was really hot, it was that Radio Forth Boogie night thing, apart from that it has rained at every meeting since and it's the same today for today's racing there.
I think that because the ground is so wet, when the sun does come out it draws all the moisture out the ground and it forms straight back into clouds again Last edited by Alan1; 24-07-2012 at 08:25 AM. |
