Did you manage to cancel and re-order Wendy?
This is where we tend to get our bulbs in bulk. They are really great in the shop and do them very cheaply for a bulk buy. Maybe have a look and see if you have any stores near to you.

No store near me no longer stock the 100watt reflector bulbs, so I purchased a pack of 10 from eBay only to find that when I picked them up from Royal Mail sorting office 6 of them were broke! I still have a bulk of 60 watt, but when these run out

I use halogen heat bulbs from swell in the tortoise sheds, they throw out loads of heat and are reflective, they do cost around £7 but do last up to a year, and because they throw out massive heat I only need the 50watt & 75watt bulbs. They are also very hard so won't get broke in transit x

So when they eventually stop selling 60 watt spot lamps altogether what will everyone use?

Any links please would be a great help. Thanks x

No Emma, I would have had to ring them so I didn't bother. Got the bulbs now so have enough to last for a while.

Hun, do you have a link for the halogen heat bulbs from swell and are they a screw fitting or bayonet?
Thanks

Don't need 60 watt spot lights anymore.
Bought an Arcadia Halogen Basking Spot light 75watt and it's amazing...see link.

The heat from this light is so good that I wouldn't go back to Tungsten bulbs...these last three times longer.

These look really good. Apparently the law seems to be that places like B&Q have to stop selling the 'old' style bulbs even if they have them in stock but independent stores like your local shop can carry on as it doesn't apply. So I think what is happening is the local stores are buying up the old stock of the big stores. The manufacturers are still making them for local stores - this is all hearsay though. There are always loads in 'in-excess' stores too.
