I know it is hard for the family to accept that someone is changed forever, but you still have him and that is the most important thing.

Terrible news Lynn but try to look on the bright side, what Alison says is soo true. Four years ago, tomorrow actually my 15 year old son fell two floors of multistorey carpark, landing on his head on concrete. He had a fractured skull & brain hemorhage. When he eventually woke up it was as a very different boy, angry & changed. I was feeling down one day & said to my Dad, all this over doing something stupid & he said what you have to remember is a lot of Mums dont get their Kids back after "doing something silly!" & thats soo true. You still have him Things will get better

My beautiful 23 year old niece died 2 years ago yesterday in a car accident, so I know from experience that things could have been much worse

We never stop worrying about our kids, what an ordeal for you both to go through. Hoping the best for his recovery, he has you and that's important.

Oh Lynne that's awful. Only time will make this better, but he is young and he will adapt. But that doesn't help the way you feel right now, he is your baby and you want to protect him, it feels awful when our children get hurt and we can't do anything to "rub it better" any more. Just be there for him, that's all you can do and that will be so good to have you there, no matter how old they are they always want their mum. How did this happen, is there fault at work or just a tragic accident? Thinking of you Lynne, hang in there and stay strong, as ever.
