They don't really need company do they? I guess I look at him and feel bad that he is by himself but I suppose tortoises don't feel lonely? I would like to get another, I just don't want to end up stressing him out if he is happy.

yes they are together now, but due to be separated again soon, the other thing to watch out for is gender... turns out I have a girl and a boy, so soon they will not be able to live together...

Thats what I always thought. I saw Ruby on her own and thought she would like a friend - I was clearly VERY wrong lol. From the minute I put Lily into the table, Ruby constantly bit her legs and face, bobbed her head at her, climbed on her and was really just a big bully! I was like a nervous wreck watching them. If you really want another tortoise you could keep them seperate and let them meet each other a couple of times a day to see how they would get on? xx

thats how I got my two back together, through meetings in the garden...

Thanks for all your advice I will definitely have a think about everything you have all said. I do really want another one but I dont really have the space for another viv so I will probably wait a while. I dont want to get one and it not work out and have to find it a new home
