Hi Clarey,
I've not used one of those myself but hopefully others will come along soon and give their opinions |

The Solarglo's are ok. They seem to be working fine for those who have bought them. Not sure if you get a warranty on these. I think I did a very long thread on this subject (not sure if it was yours...). The MR are deemed to be the best (I have one of these) - but unreliable of late - and also very good is the new Arcadia combined bulb range, but I think they only do 160w at the moment - but are planning to bring out a 120/100w bulb. Get a bulb from a good reputable stockist. Or you can speak to Darren (Darren is a SW member) - he sells a big range of combined bulbs and can advise which would be good for you.
http://www.kimbosreptileworld.co.uk/ Lots of people on here buy from Darren. I think he owns tortoises so he knows different types of light set ups. He can give you info on fixtures, which one is doing well etc. Hope this helps. xxGood luck |

Hi, I had the solarglow 125W bulb but it didn't even work one day for me It did seem a really great bulb and it's probably just a fault with the one I received so it's being sent back. Hopefully you'll get on OK with yours though. You get a 6 month warranty with the solarglow bulb

I currently use a 125 w solarglow (amongst others) & its working very nicely, had it about10-12 weeks, so far so good. I think you must have been unlucky with the one you received.

Welcome to Shelled Warriors What species of tortoise are you getting? I'd love to see a pic on Monday!
