Hi Johnny I think the ready-made tables tend to be on the smaller side. Maybe partly because of the cost of sending out large ones. A 5X4' tortoise table would weigh quite a lot.

I am quite bad at DIY as well but if you are willing to have a try, or get a friend to help, it can be the best way to do it. The wood etc needed to make one is quite cheap so if it all goes wrong it's not a disaster money-wise.

In general fancy tables don't work out all that well in reality. Mine are all bodged together and I end up changing things on them which means more holes getting drilled and so on but tortoises really couldn't care less how bad it looks if it does the job!

Hi Johnny
I'm sure b+q still do a cutting service so if you worked out all your sizes out of a sheet of 8x4 feet ply wood you could manage to screw it together.

Or find an old book case, may be from eBay, turn it on its back and there you have a tortoise table.

I used a wardrobe - it was great because it had compartments due to hanging clothes on one side and shelves on the other.

Not sure this makes sense?

Hanging area was one compartment and on the other side just left one shelf in to make another two compartment with holes for torts to walk though.

massive grow bag tray and 4 pieces of wood cut to size and screwed together, easy, cheap, hygienic and safe.

Even two grow bag trays together - ridge across is a bridge with a few pebbles strategically placed ! bingo ! CB
