Very true and I suppose you can agree that if we turn this around a female will only encounter a single male in the wild. But this single wild female may not encounter a male tortoise everyday, in fact as the "wild" is such a large habitat she may not come across another tortoise for many days.
Is this likely to happen in your sufficiently large captive 1:1 habitat ?

I'm all for common sense EJ.

First of all i would like to say thankyou to everyone that replied. Nice mixed views as always!

I only asked as a matter of interest i wasnt actually thinking of placing an adult pair in together permanently. I was merely asking out of interest about who has encountered any problems with this ratio.

I also love how the threads i start seem to get people angry lol! I will try not to make future posts so anger inducing lol
