It depends how easily pleased people are or what type films people are into but I have only come across around 10 films or less in my lifetime that I'd class as great films.
I take it this one is about caves then? is there murder and intrigue involved?

in no particular order..

the deer hunter
cool hand luke
the green mile
midnight express
mystic river
silence of the lambs
the wind that shakes the barley
hannibal rising
perfume: the story of a murderer <-- weird but very very good

can't think of any others off hand but there will be a few decent ones.
Not a huge amount then in over 50 years

I agree with several of those Alan although I couldn't get into perfume, not seen the wind that shakes the barley and I dont watch any Vietnam films.

How about:

Seven
The Bone collector
Changling
Sleepers ( although very disturbing)
Gothika ( Hally Berry)
Monster
