Not to mention it will make the poo runny - linking in to upsetting their gut. xx

I don't give fruit either, only when I've needed to worm and Panacur in a cucumber sandwich always does the trick.

Hmm.. Mixed opinions here. I might try him on a bit of pumpkin while they're in season just for the worming part but I won't introduce fruit into his diet a lot. I don't want him with an upset stomach. I also have a butternut squash in the fridge. Maybe he will get lucky :P
Thank you all for your advice. |

Only pumpkin seeds are a natural wormer. The flesh of a pumpkin isn't.

I didn't know that Dan but anyway I never had runny poo or upset tums with any of mine but they had good grazing and lots of different foods, the 'fruit' was only ever given when in season in the garden but to be honest most outside leaves etc used to get thrown in the enclosures and it was up to them if they ate it or not. I think most who have trouble with poo etc just don't feed the variety of plants that are safe and the list is endless my adults would spend most of their time wandering round and eating a bit of this and that they rarely sat in one place just eating the same. I'm also sure that where ever they live in the wild they would occasionaly come across a peice of fallen fruit at a certain time of year and as their diet wouldn't be as rich as what we feed would make the most of a few extra vitamins and a nice taste. The food bought in shops will never be the same as those grown in the garden or in the wild most are forced in greenhouses and certainly don't taste the same.
