Default Changing glazing from plastic to glass

Does anyone know anything about swopping glazing types in a greenhouse?

I have a small greenhouse which has polycarbonate/plastic glazing. I think the panes were originally glued in with silicone. Im thinking of reglazing with 3mil horticultural glass (which I already have ) Anyone know if this is possible? or have any thoughts please?

I am always replacing glass from coldframes and occasionally the greenhouses. Well my husband is:0)
What you need to think of, is where to get the glass. You would think its easy, but not always.

I already have the glass Sandy. I took down a big greenhouse when I Re did my herman area last winter/spring. Put one of these (supposedly) unbreakable palram greenhouses in its place. This other greenhouse is smaller, only 5 foot across (its hexagonal) & I kept all the good pieces of glass from my 6 x 8, so think I should have just enough, but its going against a fence so if I don't & cant find more glass I can always use plastic on the back, as it wont show)

Yep me you will need to look at the profile of the glazing bars on the greenhouse to see if it will accept the clips to hold glass in if it does most garden centers sell them if it wont then prob a no goer

That's a bit unkind Gordon calling you a "turnip" I wouldn't dream of doing that! Have you made that cake yet by the way?

Yep, that was what was throwing me Gordon, it does look very flat. I will have to dig it out (it's hidden behind big tort shed atm) Take a pic & post it if I cant work it out myself.

If I have to have that UPVC type glazing whats the best way of securing it into place? I assume double sided tape? or silicone again? or is there "proper" stuff?

(someone suggested I attach a wire wheel to a drill & clean all the old silicon off - which I will do )
