I only read the first line of the first post Bev, I have a habit of doing that at times .. it was How many people use coco coir as their only substrate?

And where do you get rid of coco coir? I just use topsoil and for the Greeks sharp sand mixed with topsoil x

Would coco coir be compostable? (If that's even a word?!?) I could give it to my uncle if that's the case if not, as I've only got half and half, probably a bin bag would do

It's biodegradable which is just posh for compostable

I've just started using coir as i was having major dust issues with soil and sand mix, my boy loves it. Much cleaner for him and lovely and soft. It does need damping down but thats not a problem. He never seemed to dig down before but now he looks really cosy and warm. I would recommend. Sam.
