Default Chaco is a?

Is the Chaco the same as a geochelone chilensis?

Yes , but the genus has changed to Chelonoidis, so it would be Chelonoidis chilensis.

Yup. The splitters are trying to place it in its own genus but the jury is still out on that one.

You will find more information on Geochelone chilensis than the other one.

Either way it is still the Chaco tortoise.
