Good few crash without them!
So even with needing a license they are still dangerous?!? See banning is the only way to solve that dangerous car issue!

its that 'nanny' state again, 99% of people are responsible and capable of using things properly and safely, why should they be punished because of the 1% that aren't. If we're talking about banning things sold in shops I can think of far more dangerous things that could come first ie drink and cigarettes I'm sure that deaths due to drink or smoking are far higher than those due to fireworks. Fireworks would be pretty low on my list of things we could do without

I hate them, have to say. Maybe I wouldnt go so far as to ban them but stricter regulation - definitely. I can't stand the fact that you get the bangs going off way before November 5th (so who's selling them?) and after the 5th.
It's like 5/11 is for 2 weeks. I know my mums cat is scared s.less with them. I'm not sure despite your petition it'll happen though. As has been said - I think you would run the problem underground where you'll get the cheaply made, more dangerous ones. And yep I mean that in terms of selling to the public...I realise you aren't saying ban altogether. Despite whatever is done - it'll still go on. But it actually could make things more dangerous. Stricter regulations would be better. A limit to how many are sold for private use, and the timescale that suppliers sell them - as in, set days? They do get on my nerves though. I much prefer going to an organised display rather than some puny costly half dozen whistlers out in the back garden lol! xx Last edited by yuna1971; 08-12-2014 at 07:42 AM. |

One of the things we are pointing out to our MPs is about the length of time that fireworks seem to go on for eg. October through untill New Year. So i agree with you that it would be better to have a time scale when they can be bought.
