"FRED HASN’T BEEN SEEN SINCE THE AFTERNOON OF 30/07/06.
WE ARE WORRIED THAT A CAT OR BIRD MAY HAVE TAKEN HIM AND DROPPED HIM IN THE SURROUNDING AREA WHICH INCLUDES YOUR GARDEN. HE IS ABOUT 3 INCHES WIDE AND ABOUT 3 INCHES LONG.
FRED IS QUITE POORLY AND IN URGENT NEED OF MEDICATION AND WE ARE VERY WORRIED ABOUT HIM.
IT DOESN’T MATTER IF HE IS INJURED AND WE WILL NOT HOLD ANYONE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURIES HE HAS.
ANY HELP LOCATING HIM WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. HE LIKES SNUGGLING IN WITH ROCKS, LEAVES AND WOOD

A REWARD WILL BE GIVEN FOR HIS SAFE RETURN.

PLEASE CONTACT US ON xxx IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION.

THANKING YOU IN ANTICIPATION."

The part about needing urgent medication is a deterant for those who might want to keep him

Hope you get him back safe and sound. Meanwhile, definately build those walls up a lot higher than that. Tortoises can climb exceedingly well, and once they escape once, they will return to the weakness in their enclosure time and time again to escape once more.

Fingers crossed!

Fingers crossed for you here.I like the idea of using a deterant to stop people keeping him.
Come home soon Fred.

WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

came home tonight and started clearing all the loose pete from the area, rechecked everywhere I checked yesterday dug down to rock hard soil and found the little git buried a good 5 inches and under the orange pot!!!

I know I must have over reacted but thanks to all for the help/advise, I honestly thought he had been nabbed by something
Sciara - pessimistic till the end!!!

the LITTLE GIT

needless to say they are both indoors and are being treated to pansies for dinner and will be kept inside for tonight

well relieved, this might sound silly but I felt sick with worry. Could not concentrate on nothing today.

All this time researching, building the table and waiting for the right time, hunting down a reliable breeder that had exactly what I wanted. and the little git go's and plays hide and seek with me!!!

it amazed me the hold they have on me already
