A balanced Diet?
Herbies menu today.
1 dandilion leaf. 1 Echinacea leaf (not a fovourite) 10 bindweed leaves lots of wild violet leaves 3 Hebe leaves 1 sowthistle leaf small slice of cucumber with limestone flour. For hydration as he didn't drink anything today. And whatever he ate while in the garden. Is that ok as a diet? Too much or too little? |

im no expert, and have no idea what size ur tort is, but i always thought you had to feed no more than the size of his/her caraspace?? im sure someone else with more experience will be along.
A good indicator is to set a date each month and weigh and measure her, the general rule is for them to gain about 2-3 grams a month, so after a couple months, you will know if u are feeding too much or to little. You have the right idea tho with variety, i would only give maybe half a leaf of each one, or even spread it out through out the day. If leaving her outside, i tend not to feed mine myself, i will let her walk around and find what she wants to eat and let her be. Good luck. |

Sorry I wasn't clear. He weighs 900g. I don't have an outside enclosure until the weekend so he is in a temporary run on the grass so not many different leaves avaiable. The food was given at intervals throughout the day.
