Part of my Testudo gang. Getting back into these on a very small scale for a bit of an experiment.
An elongated rescue I am trying to save (could go either way right now, but is better than when I got "her" from the poor lady who bought her). Leopard gang. South African giants het for Sunset Hypo. Lost another one, my largest, recently to a flip in the middle of the day while I was not home. Sad, and unexpected, but a confluence of both the flip, the timing, and the heat at that time of day made for an unfortunate result. |

While not mine, below are some photos of a genuine giant yellow foot tortoise. It is sitting with some Aldabras, so that should give you some idea of its size. I tried to get a close-up of the tail, too.
---------------------------------------------------------- Now for some more of those which are actually mine. Here are a couple shots of one of my hypo cherryheads. Here are some shots of a former runt of an Aldabra being grown according to my keeping practices. "She" has grown significantly since these photos, so I will have to take some new ones later to post. A shy and gentle animal. Tortoise Thanksgiving. My little Burmese star enjoying a little Mazuri. |

A 67% het for ivory female laid/expelled 12 eggs. Three were broken before I got to them, but that sometimes happens with new dams. So 9 intact. I took a photograph of seven. I am incubating for female in a single digitally controlled incubator, but am using two methods to test some ideas of mine. A photo of seven from the 9 incubating follows.
The sire is my large male ivory shown earlier in this thread. A photo of the dam follows. I am incubating this clutch for females because it will cut down on the time it takes for me to know whether mom is actually 100% het or 0%. |
