Minimum height for Repti Glo 10.0 UVB
Hi everyone This morning one of my torts combined Solar glo blub blew. I have only had it about a month so hopefully will get another one sent straight out but until then I am having to use a normal bulb for heat and also have a brand new Repti Glo 10.0 UVB as it may be afew days before my new one arrives. Ive never used one of these bulbs before my question is do I need to burn the light in the same way I do for the Solar Glo? Also is there a set distance it has to be from the substrate? Any advice will be appreciated thanks.

the distance should be on the instructions, I don't know what it is sorry.
the solarglos didn't need burning in as far as I'm aware but not sure about the reptiglo. you can get bulbs that look like megarays and screw into the same holders and are about £4 at B+Q, handy in an emergency - they are called PAR 38 Flood and are in the halogen bulb section. mine is 80w |

if it is a compact bulb it should be a minimum of 12 inches, haven't found what a tube should be. is it a compact or a tube?

i haven't found anything on the tubes but I'd say 12 inches min as well, maybe even go a bit higher to be safe until someone else replies. if you could change the title to add "what height reptiglo tube"? you might get someone who has one to reply. you are able to change the thread title for a limited time. you do it by editing your first post, advanced edit maybe, can't remember

I am not sure if there is a min/max for the tubes have to say. When you buy tort tables, or even some vivs they already have the brackets in them - and from memory, I dont think these were 12inches up from the base.
I dont think mine is. I think mine is about 7/8inches up from the base. But then again, mine is only a Repti Glo 2.0 and I have mine only for light purposes really. However, if it has to be moved then so be it...I will watch this thread with interest. xx |

I wonder if there is a helpline number on the website Eliza. Wonder if giving them a call at Hagen, (who make them)
This is a useful info leaflet I downloaded the other day, maybe it will be of use to you. Also on the Hagen website you can email them the question. http://www.hagen.com/pdf/reptiles/Ex...g_Guide_EN.pdf http://www.hagen.com/uk/reptiles/index.html Hope this helps! xx |
