Hi

My basking temp directly under the heat lamp is 95 and this suits my Leopards perfectly.
My cooler end is about 75
Night temps drop to 57

Again these temps suit my Leopards - they are a lot more active since I adjusted to the above temps.

They need an obvious difference between day and night temps.

You need to adjust things to suit you.... dont forget that they will thermoregulate as well if they are too hot or too cold.

Dont be afraid to adjust the temps to suit YOUR torts. What works well for me might not suit you. :P

Hi Rachel,

Deb is right, about the night and day thing, you need to be giving about 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night, so lights out at bed time.

If you are worried about night temps dropping you should consider getting a ceramic heater which will give you heat but no light.

I know this is working for you at the moment but when the early light mornings come in your tortoise wont be able to distinguish day from night as it will be in constant light.
