Sorry about my typos. I cannot see the text on the reply section of this site very well, and when touch typing tend to miss occasionally.

I have a Sully, she's a year now and I've had her since she was about four months old. She eats weeds and grass. That's it, oh and readigrass although she's not too fond of that. I bathe her alot too, she loves a good soak! I would love to see a picture of yours.

Thanks for all the replies,

Just a little update on how were gettng on with 'Speedy' as he/she has been named:

I am now feeding Speedy a mixture of grasses and weeds that I find around the garden, the transfer over from feeding the tortoise food supplied when I got him to the grass/weeds has been so easy, I thought he would not take to it straight away but he seems to love the new food. He also gets Timothy hay with herbs (dandelion & marigold ) , is this ok?

I have bought some meadow grass seeds and have now planted these into containers, cant wait for this to grow then I can put the container into his home and he can feed from there, ( Ive set off 5 containers then I can change daily and it give time to grow back.)

Now when I got him I was told that he was 18 months old, and was just wondering if you guys thought this was the right age, ive been doing loads of reading on the net and come across pics of some 2yr olds who seem loads bigger than speedy. I know slow growth is best but was just wondeing if maybe they got his age wrong also when they sold him to me?

I have not measured or weighed him yet (im off to town now to buy a decent set of scales and tape mesure) will post length/weight when I get back, but below is a pic of him sitting on my hand to get some idea of size.

What do you think

hello i dont keep sulcata but leopards have similar reqiurments i know he is small but on good days you should put him out in the sun even a small pen would do so long as he has shade a small area of lawn for him to graze i have found that mine like it when i have just cut the grass must be the smell.here is 2 pic,s one is a young leopard a little older than your sulcata it is spending last summer in the adult pen . two is a netted area for young spurthihghed tortoises perhaps this would be better at first then you could find him and bring him in at night .dont cut the grass too short as when it gets very hot they burrow into the turf to conserve moisture.
