Default humidity levels

i got some cherry heads at the weekend they are still pretty shy and wont come out alot, but i was wondering how do i get the humidity level up to 80% as it is only reading 60% i spray it 2-3 times a day.

what substrate are you using ??

also what are you measuring the humidity with / and where is this placed ?

soil,sand,bark, and the round one humidity thing, i have it near my spot light.

the bark should help keep the moisture on the table

it is ground hunidity you need to be measuring

so is the hygrometer placed so it is sitting on top of the sand soil

move the bark to the side a bit and see what reading you are getting

im not 100% but i think cherry heads need air humidity as well as ground humidity..
darren will be along soon to help im sure ..
sorry i cant be much more help ..
everythink else linda has stated for ground humidity is what i would have said ..

experiment take a few measurements around the table

the direct heat from the light may well affect the hygrometer

mine have never been shy

do you have a bit of shelter so they can come out and still feel secure having a peep

It depends on the tortoise. Younger torts will often hide away anyway. Where did you get them from?
