Thoroughly miserable here. Cloudy & grey, lots of heavy showers. My small Hermanns have refused to venture out of their greenhouse the last few days and male horsfields have had a dabble outside, girls refusing to budge from indoors. It's a shame. I think they are confused.

Looks like they're going to get some summer after all for the next week at least. Already I can see the change coming and a couple of leaves on the tree at the bottom of the garden are turning yellow.
Maybe it'll be an Indian summer this September?

I love indian summers reminds me of when i was a child swallows and amazons , no ipads, or phones , just shorts, peanut butter sandwiches , a bike and fishing net. its over 40 in the conservatory - still buy fishing nets but for the bees and butterflys to net them out of the conservatory. gosh its hot CB

I’m an autumn gal - that’ll never change. I couldn’t bear this heat every day. Hoping it won’t be a prolonged heatwave but just a week or so of sun with a breeze!

Agreed. I’m enjoying this cooler spell but see another heatwave is forecast for later in the month. Roll on the autumn.

Don't need it to get to cold as some of my lot are still wanting to lay Herman's and my small group of iberas which I wish I had a few more of.

Yes Emma we are all free from it and luckily she didn't pass it on.
As for the incubators there are still a few eggs to hatch including one or two from the Burmese browns . |
