Eggs and tomatoes
In the shops eggs are not kept in the fridge but many people get them home and put them in their fridge. On the other hand tomatoes are often (but not always) in the chilled section yet they are not supposed to be kept in the fridge as it impaires the flavour which improves with natural ripening (it says so on the packet)

Our dietician at uni said eggs shouldnt be kept in the fridge as they absorb any smells from other foods in there, and should always be at room temperature when they are used!!

We have a small kitchen with an Aga in it, the average temperature is about 24 degrees all year round, and higher when its very hot outside. So to keep things fresh and lasting longer both eggs and toms have to go in our fridge, if left to ripen on the side they all seem to ripen at once and then go off as i cant eat them quick enough! When it was warm last week i had to throw bread out as it went mouldy, so now that is in the fridge too ha ha

I love baking, and was told that eggs should not be kept in fridge so mine arnt. My toms are in the fridge but thats only so they last longer and I buy packets of them. But I do keep a packet of the baby vine tomatoes out as I think their flavour is much better plus the kids snack on them.

I used to keep tomatoes in the fridge, for about 25 years we did that but then after reading that they shouldn't be kept in the fridge, we kept them out and couldn't believe the difference in taste, amazing

I leave the tomatoes on the side and pick at them like sweets. The eggs are currently in the fridge but only because I don't have anything pretty to store them in. That's in hand however....

We keep our eggs in the fridge as there is a shelf with holes for them to sit in and the tomatoes go in the bottom of the fridge in the salad drawer although I agree they taste better if left out.

I keep eggs in the fridge, most fridges have a special compartment for them. The fridge makers must think they need to go in the fridge, lol
I have did read ages ago that they are meant to be kept at room temperature though. I also put tomatoes in the fridge too. I only eat raw tomatoes and hate the taste when they're warm xx
