Default Hay for Sulcatas?Or Readigrass?

Should I be lining my top soil/playsand mix in my tortoise table with Hay on Top?Should I be encouraging Little Ted to eat hay/readigrass or not?
How quickly should I expect a sulcata to grow per year?
Thanks
Jackie

I use hay with Bolder simply because I managed to get some really nice soft hay where as readigrass or similar is a bit harsh and prickly for youngsters. Bolder will probably move onto a mix of both when he gets bigger, if he wanted he could eat the soft hay but doubt he'd manage the readigrass at the moment.

What kind of hay?... Straw... no... any pasture hay fed to cattle or horses... yes.

I'd go with the hay regardless.
