Default New turtle sick?




just buy this turtle is there somthing wrong or is she healt from shellrot it feels hard and dry

Thats a wild caught Hermanni if ever I saw one

I assume its the shell rot your referring to? Is there any smell or discharge?

Captive bred tortoises aren't so bashed about - or would be rare as the environment would deem it safer than having so much damage. Shell damage I think rather than shell rot.

You are abroad aren't you so I'm guessing all the regulations are in place according to your country. Good luck and let us know how you get on as poor thing looks like in need of some serious TLC, CB

I would have put her at a little older than that but I am not so familiar with Hermanns. she looks a lovely Tortoise, CB

As Cherry Brandy says she is quite bashed + the beautiful regular growth, very difficult to achieve in captivity. I would say shes older than 15 but I am only guessing. The shell damage looks old.

Is there anything else which makes you ask if she is sick? Other signs or symptoms?

I agree with the other two , she almost certainly look wild caught, because of the smooth she'll growth and as has been said she's quite bashed about, which does happen to wild tortoise, and I would say she could be about 30/40 years old. She is very beautiful, good luck with her.
