Default HI - Missing Tortoise

Hi Guys,

I was given this site address by a kind Steve who suggested you may be able to help me. My tortoise went missing Tuesday from our back garden, we think he may have been stolen. I was hoping you guys could keep eyes and ears out for me?

MISSING
Hermann tortoises, two years old, black and yellow with brown, 3".
Missing from Southend, Essex. Desperately missed!
Please contact Leila or David on 07958 112537 or 07939 817376
leila.david@blueyonder.co.uk

It would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Leila

Hi Becks,

We have looked everywhere but no sign of him, no sign of escape from his pen either. We are absolutely gutted, he is such a character. We have been checking morning and night in case he does turn up but no joy.

Thanks for your post
I hope turns up soon

Depending on where you live, your tortoise may well have buried down in our unusually hot
weather. Mine did this last year (having not done it in previous years 4yr old) she was down for
over a week. Then I decided to have a very careful dig around the roots of plants. And there
she was the little devil. Not a care in the world.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your help. We have just been outside digging about and so far found nothing. We will keep looking for him and hope he turns up. I have let local vets, rspca etc know so hopefully he will be found or if he has been stolen someone will come forward. I'll keep you all posted

Cheers
Leila

Just checking you know they can go down at least three inchs or more. Especially when small.

Hi Leila,

Welcome to the forum, I hope you find your little fellow, such as sad first few posts.

I assume your tortoise hasn't been micro chipped as he / she is only 3 inches in size. Did any neighbours see any strangers in the area or anyone around your house? Do many people know you have a tortoise?

Fingers, legs, arms and eyes crossed you get him / her back soon.

Regards, Ade
