Default Any tort weeds suitable for Guinea pigs

Hello everyone
I grow all the usual weeds for torts (dandelion, mallow, vetch, lavatera, sow thistle etc.) and was just wondering if any are suitable for our newly acquired Guinea pigs. I know dandelions are ok but can't find much info about the rest.
Many thanks
Maddy

not sure on the mallow etc and flowers but sow thistle should be ok and dandelions but in moderation as dandelions can be a directic. though you shouldn't feed lawn mowed grass I hand shear the grass and feed it in toilet rolls. They go nuts for it. Not too much because any cut grass can start emitting gasses and if left in the hutch it can cause dangerous wind. new grass shoots has lots of vitamins ! old grass not so much ! get some nice scissors maybe or shears...good fun! save the toilets rolls - they eat them too. I had a gpig Boris for 10 years. We lost him last summer. I only gave him homebargains g.pig food (sometimes their rabbit food) which was cheap as chips. He used to selectively feed which I never interfered with, just topped up daily. He always had both a "salt lick" & a " mineral lick" which he used to wear right down. He also ate the same weeds as my torts. I cant say I took anything out for him, just gave him a handful!

I will have to look for salt lick and mineral lick sounds like mine could do with those to wile away the day instead of chewing a huge hole in their hutch ! they love toilet rolls and wood....they aren't a huge fan of shop bought treats though which saves me the guilt trip. CB

I used to get them from Wilkinson, some other pet shops too. White or rust coloured like a wheel about 3 inches Cross 1cm thick hole in centre, they used to come with a clip so you could attach to wire front of cage. He would literally wear them away licking. Boris often had weeds complete with nutrabol, simply becaude I would go out with a carrier bag of weeds and it was already on! In later years I also gave him a pelleted form of vitamin c which I got from a local equine shop.
