The outside pen is coming along
Beatrice's favourite spot. Idea from CB - thank you.
Bertie's favourite spot. Bertie's best friend. Tort garden in progress. Need to remove more grass and put pea shingle down. Have done this at the area in the shade. Also more planting. Just sunning ourselves. Any comments welcome. I have dug up a bucket full of buttercups and still more to do. Second version of the indoor pen in progress, so more pictures later. It all takes so much time, but so enjoyable.

Why are my pictures so small? Must be doing something wrong.

good grief Jan your torts look so tiny in their enclosure but I think that's because your enclosure is huge ! Its looks good when I squint !! Lots of green.
I'll PM you re photographs but think its your camera (size of photo), CB

Larger photos
It appears it was the way I downloaded the pictures, but doing 5 in one go rather than 1 at a time!
Beatrice favourite spot Bertie's favourite spot The torts were out when it started raining. Beatrice just tucked her head in and Bertie actually stretched his out. I waited to see what they would do. Nothing! So they were moved very quickly and dried off. So much for trying to let them decide where they want to be. It is a large area, but I hope they will always be able to stay together, so wanted to give Beatrice space if needed to get away from Bertie. View of the tort garden - in progress still. Need to remove more of the grass. Have started putting down pea gravel at top end where there is permanent shade and ground very moist. In the sun - just chilling. (before it poured with rain) Bertie's best friend and his favourite spot when basking

Jan - what an amazing space for them both! I think you're going to enjoy working on it and I look forward to further photos as their enclosure develops.
