Default Post pics of your Redfoot enclosure.

Just so I can have some new ideas please I have mine on coir at the moment. I heard leaf litter was a good idea however I seem to think she would just eat the leaves so what about any sort of bark pieces ?

I think I've shown you my photos before. Leaf litter is fine as long as the leaves are safe, my guys tend to not eat it anyway, they like fresh ones. Orchid bark is good however I would never keep just on bark as they like to dig. Keep the coir as a base-will be like soil in what most people do-and then add moss/leaf litter/orchid bark or all on top.

Any moss will be fine. Generally I use the woodland stuff as it doesn't dry out as quickly as sphagnum. The top layer of my viv stays very dry as there is a 100w basking bulb and a ceramic next to each other, it kind of stays like savannah. The rest of it I try to keep the moss damp by spraying but keep the soil dryish to not cause shell rot, except at the back in the forest area of the viv. Now and again however I will pretty much flood the place.

How old is she as well? I do grow my reds very slowly compared to most, but .5 inch in a year sounds way too little growth. Even in the wild they'd be growing about an inch a year, which is what I am trying to do in captivity.

Ah OK, I would still aim for just over an inch of growth a year though. At 5 years I would say she should be probably 7 inches min really.
