Horsfield needs new home
As I've been offered a job abroad, I need to find Lolly a new home by the beginning of September 2016. I live on Anglesey, North Wales.
She is a Horsfield tortoise and approximately 14 years old. She's been microchipped and I will be happy to change the registration details to the new owner. I know Horsfields don't need to be chipped, but the thought that if I was burgled and she couldn't be returned because they couldn't find her owner, was upsetting. She can be re-housed alone, or with the following: 6' x 2' tortoise table (with castors) heating element (inc ceramic holder) large terracotta plant pot (she loves climbing over it) half log terracotta water dish feeding slates She has lived alone with me (almost 6 years) and didn't cope well sharing space with another tortoise with her previous owners. She has a healthy appetite and has never been ill during her time with me. If any one is interested, and if you only want her and the smaller items, I can drive out to Chester (or near there) to deliver her. If you want the tortoise table then you will need to arrange for it to be picked up. I'm happy to bore you with millions of pictures of her and the table/objects if you want to see her. You can contact me on talooms@yahoo.co.uk. Crwban

Hi,
I also have a horsfield for rehoming and wonder if you have been successful yet. I find the whole process rather awkward with rehoming threads buried in the middle of everything else. I also note that the threads go back years. There seems no reference as to how many were successful. Anyway I hope you are successful.

Hi rupert
No, I've not had any show of interest yet. I may need to advertise her on the Shelled Warriors facebook page. I think the problem is where I live - a lot of people won't want to travel that far. Crwban

Hi there to both of you,. I have a friend who is looking for an adult horsefield, he's got plenty of room and I can assure you with my guidance he will take care of it well.
I'll have a word with him about joining this forum, he's new to tortoising but is no mug, he's kept numerous snakes years ago, which had to stop because his now wife is petrified of snakes. Let me know what you think please. |

Hi Anyfoot
I'd like to know more about your friend, but if he's already owned other reptiles, then he has more experience than I had when I bought Lolly! I'm happy to answer any questions you or your friend have - feel free to email me on the address above. And give them the email address as well if it helps. Crwban

Hi I would be very interested in being able to help rehome her, I have sent you an email and can forward photos of our setup, I would be a new tortoise mummy but have followed different forums for a long time, and have other rescue animals , xx

Thanks Anyfoot for informing him of this post - I'd started to panic that I wouldn't be able to find somewhere for her in time. Crwban

Good. She will be fine with Dave. He's one of them, that when he does something, he does it right, and not half hearted. I'll get him on here so you can have a look at what he's doing, and he can get help from other members with experience in med species that way.
