Smile NEW QUIZ for Sunday 21st August

As you may know I and lots of other SW people have been down in the dumps about poor old Wilma Pie Thompson, a brave little tort, passing away and Lynn is suffering with toothache, the weather is up and down like an up and down thing and the looters are getting off on appeal. We need something to cheer us up - so here is a special 'HAPPY' themed quiz!

1) Who played The Fonz in Happy Days?
Henry Winkler

2) Who was the lead singer with Happy Mondays?
Shaun Ryder

3) Happy Talk was a hit for which member of The Damned?
Captain Sensible

4) Which musical was the song Happy Talk originally from?
South Pacific

5) The 2008 British film 'Happy Go Lucky' won the golden globe best actress award for Sally Hawkins but who directed the film?
Mike Leigh

6) The film Happy Gilmour features which sport?
Golf

7) 'Celebrate Good Times' was a hit for which group?
Kool & The Gang

8) 'Smile' is an internet bank belonging to which high street bank?
The Co-operative Bank

9) The latest Happy Planet Index (2009) placed Costa Rica as the world's happiest country! Where did the UK come - was it 4th, 14th, 34th, 74th or 104th?
74th

10) Smiler was a character in which long running sitcom?
Last Of The Summer Wine

11) Smiley's People featured a spy called Smiley, but what was his first name?
George

12) 'Happiness' is the signature song of which entertainer?
Ken Dodd

13) Which band sung about 'Shiny Happy People'?
REM

14) Tortoises love being in the sun - what vitamin does being in the sunlight help to produce?
D(3)

15) Joy Division later became which Manchester band?
New Order

16) Joy Adamson befriended which lion?
Elsa

17) Ode To Joy was set to music by which composer?
Beethoven

18) The 'Ode To Joy' has been adopted as the official anthem of which organisation?
The European Union

19) Who released the live single 'The Wonder Of You'?
Elvis Presley

20) Happy was one of the seven dwarfs - can you name the other six? A point for each!
Sneezy, Sleepy, Doc, Dopey, Bashful, Grumpy and Cowell (I may have got that last one wrong)

TIE BREAK DECIDER: send a one liner joke with your entry, there is a point simply for sending one but in the event of a tie I will judge which one is best/corniest!

As it is a late notice quiz I will extend the entry time until 9pm on MONDAY 22nd August, so please have a go folks and remember to smile at everyone that you see today!

The results are in and can you believe it - two entries both tied for 1st place with 10points. As both Caledonia and Cathers submitted happily corny jokes they were still impossible to split! Therefore I declare it a TIE!
1st - CALEDONIA
1st - CATHERS

Thanks for entering

You beat me to the punch Alan - we have only had two entries, yourself and Cathers, shall I publish the results or roll it over to this weekend and hope more people enter?

I decided not to roll it over as we might not have got any more entries this weekend either. So the results are in! Well done to you both!
