Could do with a few more leaves and an idea of size. photo taken where you found it would give a good idea of proportion compared to surrounding plants.

Sorry to disagree, I don't think it looks anything like a snapdragon, the leaves are totally different and the flowers are more of the pea family than a snapdragon type.

Thanks for all the help everyone
It could be a vetch as the flowers look vetch-like but the leaves don't as I get a lot of vetch in my garden and the leaves are always uniform and directly opposite each other in pairs. Maybe it's a different kind of vetch? My dad gave it to me after one of his jaunts (he also picked some red clover which Ovid loves), I think I will dispose of it as I don't like to take risks. |

Could be Bush Vetch (Vicia Sepium) Not sure it's Alfalfa.
