I use one and have always found it excellent. I think mine was from Argos for about £10.

A fan dries the air more than a tiubular heater whcih is just background heat, put that in a shed with a basking spot to keep costs down?

I too have just bought a bargin shed and a 3ft tubular heater. Mine is 4 x 3ft so yes, agree with above who say get the 4ft one for yours

Yes agree totally.The tubular ones are brilliant. Fan heaters can cause dry eyes if you have overwintering tortoises.

I had problems whilst using a fan type heater last winter. It dried out the air & substrate too much, turning it dusty which in turn really irritated one of my Hermans. I thought she had lower respiritary infection as she was breathing with open mouth + noisey breathing. She had un-neccasary treatment & samples cultured- which cost lots of money.
She hasnt had this problem this winter using tubular heaters |

i find ceramic lamps really good the heat is first directed downwards
