what are your thoughts on this?
im starting to build an outside enclosure soon for my leopard, i brought a shed from b&q that was reduced, should have been £130 and it was reduced to £62. it will be fully insulated and ventilated.
anyway, i was wondering what you thought of this heater for it, do you think it will be any good, i also have one of those thermostat things that control the tempreture. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3006285368...#ht_2498wt_819 |

its a wooden bike shed with double doors and a felt roof, but its really quite big, i think its 4ft by 6ft and its 140cm high, i thought it was a great bargain ideal for a tortoise, but id get one of the bigger sizes in the heater, depending on if people think its good or not

2ft isn't much to be honest i would go for the 4ft tube heater for back ground heat , you will also need something for a basking spot like a 150 watt spot light on a dimmer stat

I would get a 4ft one. They are good but the smaller ones will not be much good especially in the colder months. I use a 150 reflector spot bulb in my shed also and if it is still not warm enough I have a thermostat heater that comes on if the temp drops and goes off once it gets warm enough. At least this way you are prepared. My tubular heater is left on all the time. Hope this helps

they aren't too powerful, you can get some fan assisted 2KW greenhouse heaters for around £20 at the moment and that's at my local Garden Centre which is normally expensive.

We use the 2 ft ones but put them inside a shed whcih is inside the main shed. This gives shelter and warmth and you are not heating the whole shed saves electric. Th spot bulb can thne be used and I vary the wattgae dependant on the time of year.
What are you using for insulation? Cellotex although not cheap works very well 25mm min or 50mm which is what we use, leave silver side facing helps reflect the light.
