Hi

Below is my post from another forum, 2 of females now sold, so Bertie and Bettie are left, Will accept offers of £300.

Thanks
Mark

__________________________________________________ ______________

We have for sale to a caring knowledgeable home, 4 Hermanns. 2 of which show signs of poor husbandry from previous owners, but now fully recovered and the other two were kept in vivs and fed n fruit and veg, although no physical signs. I have had these for approx 18 months and they are all currently healthy, active and eating well.

These were not rescue torts, they were all purchased by me from owners that clearly liked the idea of a tortoise rather than the reality and performed NO research in how to care for them correctly.

I will give as much info on each as possible as well as the photos attached:
Bertie: £200
Cites cert CB05 origin: Slovenia
Bertie is the male of the group, active, likes to do what boys do best! so good chance of breeding in near future. good example of a hermann, no significant signs of previous poor husbandry. He was very subdued for the first 5 months of qaurentine, but eventually moved around more, however when he was introduced to the others, wow, a different tortoise completely, was all over the place flirting with the ladies. now i think he is a little more used to the others and calmed down a little, but thats good for the others.

Bettie: £200
Cites cert CB06 origin: Slovenia
Betty is the youngest female, again no significant signs of poor husbandry. Active, eats very well and loves the sun.

Delilah and Tallulah were bought together. The owner kept these in a small viv, fed on fuit, veg and salad. They occasionally went out in the garden but unprotected and unsupervised.
Delilah: £Sold
Cites cert CB04 origin: Slovenia
Delilah is female. bigger than betty, was showing minimal signs of pyramiding when i purchased but she has almost completely grown into her shell and the bumps have settled., delilah has some shell damage as you will see in the picture. I was told this was caused by a slab or brick falling in her when young. Although this has left a scar on her shell, it has shown no long term health problems, her shell was a little soft around the area when I brought home, but now no issues at all. She is healthy, active and eats very well.
Tallulah: £Sold
Cites cert CB04 origin: Slovenia
Tallulah is female, larger than Delilah, but had significant pyramiding, the owner told me she was always the first to food, and ate much more than Delilah. Whilst in a 6 month qaurentine and after a lot of research, I limited her meals to every other day, but on the 2nd other day only gave half a portion. I continued to feed Delilah seperate for a further 3 months after she joined the group and this has shown large improvements in her shell, it is by no means back to normal but nowhere near as pointy at the tips of the bumps. See pics.

I have all 4 on a 2 tier table through the colder months and all recently out of hibernation succesfully. The table is 5' x 2' with a 2' x 2' upper level and ramp. they were outdoors during the day for most of last summer and even into early autumn. I was due to construct a large outdoor area for this year and was going to leave them outside permenantly.
They have all been fed on weeds grown by me with added calcium and neutrobol.
If you would also like the table this can possibly be sold aswell, but only if it is with the last ones to go, if they are split. Hope to sell as group but willing to split if necesary.
I still have a Dwarf Hermann, so keeping some of the lighting, but can let some of it go.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards
Mark and the Gang.
