1 piece of slate needed
Where can you buy just 1 piece of slate for a tortoise enclosure? All the DIY shops round here want to sell me a box of more than 1 of them and they are expensive and too heavy to carry home. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

ask if they have any broken pieces out the back
often they will give these away |

I thought about doing that but my husband was with me and gets really embarrassed when I do stuff like that.

I got 3 big pieces at a Building supplyers. That's your best bet. Most are friendly and don't mind you buying 1 or 2
You might find one though when they are reroofing or building a house, usually in a skip |

I've been looking for just 1 piece ever since I had the tortoise which is since january!!! If I don't find something soon I'm going to have to trim his nails with a nail trimmer which I'm not looking forward to.

if you go to a tile shop they might have bits of broken slate tiles for free ... they only have to pay to dispose otherwise... !
