Default Sneezing

So one of my margies has been up a week, she keeps sneezing, but between sneezing she is fine, no runny nose, nothing, just wet when she sneezes. So I'm not sure what's going on. Any ideas please. Obviously if she is still sneezing on Monday I will take her to the vet.

Hi Size sorry to hear this. Is it your adult? I would try upping her temps and or keeping lamp on longer and plenty of baths to combat dehydration from the higher temps. Good luck, please let us know how she gets on☺

Hi Lynn, she's a six year old, Noah, I will give her plenty or warm baths, and try and keep her warmer. She is eating well, and seems quite active, and see how she goes today. I don't want to give her antibiotics if she hasn't got rns, but she does keep sneezing . But I also don't want to leave it, and it turns into rns. Thanks for your advice Lynn.

I don't know how you hibernate your tortoise, or what you use to put them in while in hibernation.
But is it possible that something has gotten up their nares?
Which might cause the sneezing.

Thanks, I was wondering if it might be something like that, dust maybe. I think I will change the substrate today, it's not dirty, but I will change it anyway. I box hibernate them , in short shredded paper, which can be a bit dusty.

I've completely cleaned the table out, new coco fibre, cleaned everything. I haven't noticed any sneezing today, so hopefully it was just something up her nose!

phew , thanks for updating Suze. I think its so easy to get things in their mouths and noses. When mine even breath I can sometimes see the coco coir divide. CB

Having just started using coir I have noticed this too. I never saw any movement of the substrate before. Initially I thought I was imagining Bertie had enough 'puff' to be able to move the coir so easily. As you say it creates a divide!

And they would be found on this in the wild!!!!?????
I tried it once for my babies and for the very reason you say clair is why I don't use it its horrible stringy dust even when it's wet it causes problems when they digest the stringy bits it doesn't digest on more than one occasion I had babies running around with poo necklaces hanging out of their bums.

Have to say, I wouldn't let Jerry anywhere near the stuff..for a multitude of reasons.

Hope Noah's OK now,Suze.
