Hi from Eastbourne

Hi

My name's Laura, from sunny Eastbourne, on the South coast. I've been directed here from another tortoise forum.
I don't have a tortoise yet, i'm doing lots of research into which breed i should go for.

I am 28, and live with my boyfriend and my son, who's nearly 11. We have 10 guinea pigs, 2 rats, 2 goldfish and a hamster.

i have been looking around for info, there's so much conflicting advice about though! The hibernation issue concerns me most.
I just want to make sure i am well prepared before taking on a tort.

Welcome to the forum. Everyone is very friendly on here. I'm still quite new myself and doing lots of research too. If you can't find an answer in the search then just ask. I bet there are others that will want to know the answer as well!
Must admit the biggest worry I have about getting a tortoise is the whole hibernation thing. All the folks on here, that I've spoken to, have said it was their biggest worry too. So it appears we're quite normal to have our concerns about it.

welcome, you'll find tonnes of really helpful stuff on this forum, the people are great! I'm still in the same boat as you and after a tortoise, but hopefully one comes along for us both soon!! :P
